In the day of war there was a calm river,
I used to swim there and marvel the weather,
When I think back on that day it makes me shiver,
I saw a soldiers boot, followed by bloody leather,
Then I saw his pale face, his lips made me cringe,
Enough to send anyone on a drinking binge,
For his grey, blue eyes were no longer alert and alive,
But unfocused and dead,
His eyes didnt match his bleeding head,
His tag was around his neck, I looked as it came,
Now my eyes became unfocused, it was my brother's name,
I turned around and tasted the oncoming bile,
The man I used to know and love was vile,
So I ask you God look after my brother and take care of my mother,
Because I'm of to the war to avenge him
