My life was rough and tough,
But You kept me safe
Those nights in the dark
waiting for my mom, getting high,
You kept me safe
Nights in the store guarding my little
sister and brother while mom got high,
You kept me safe
Nights of screaming and horror,
yelling and things flying,
Nights of living with a crazy alcoholic
terrorizing my mom,
You kept me safe
Thanks Lord, for keeping me safe
