Ned Kelly was a bushranger
And a very smart one too;
He was a member of the Kelly gang,
Until his life was through.
Steve, Byrne and Dan
And Edward as well;
Were members of this greedy gang,
Whose story I now tell.
In 1879
They held up the Jerilderie bank;
They got away with that one,
But at Glenrowan their hopes sank.
The constables were waitin’
To get the Kelly gang;
They were ambushed at Glenrowan,
And in the end they were hanged.
