Nanna sits in her rocking chair
At the front of her house
On the verandah
Cold, nervous, mixed with excitement
Waiting for her grandkids to arrive
Thinking all about the good times they had
When they were young, fresh childish and playful.
But memories not so well remembered from the crash
Still feeling weak, distressed, and lonely
From the death of her husband not so long ago.
Upset, about what she said yesterday
She was mad, bossy and lost.
She sits in her chair
And wait’s for her grandkids to arrive.
