The elderly may be the wisest of our time,
so listen what they have to say.
They teach us things others could not,
so take note of their display.
They tell us how things used to be
(y'know, back in the day).
They'll tell us about the TV, movies, and news from back then,
and how their favorite song was Frank Sinatra's "My Way."
If we're feeling lonely and bored, they're always there to play.
They'll teach us things other's can't;
things like, how to pray.
They let us come to their houses
when school lets out in May.
What do you think of when you hear of the elderly?
Some people wrinkled and grey?
I think of their fresh young spirits
that are with me; here to stay.
