When we came into this world,
A gift for us, from heaven hurled,
That gift was full of many things,
Independence, Love and Joy, it brings.

This gift it fills the world with hope,
Through pain and grief, it helps us cope,
It tells the difference between the wrong,
It keeps us aware, all day long.

It can’t be traded, bought or sold,
This special gift only you can hold.
You can treasure it and keep it with pride,
Or treat it roughly until it dies.

Hold onto your gift – don’t let it go!
Your goals and achievements it will show,
This the gift that’s with you in strife,
This special gift is the gift of life.
