One gloomy night in August,
Moorabbin was the site
Two officers, Silk and Miller
Would leave our world tonight

A dark car halted near them
The two officers inquired
Not knowing they were targets
Into them three shots were fired

What senseless acts of violence
Against these brave young men
They were carrying out their duty
Our community to defend.

We honour them in glory
Blue ribbons we do wear
Their memory will continue
With hope and not despair.
