Our cat Masy died today,
And I was at school so far away,
Sadly she died so all-alone,
No one to weep, no one to moan.
As my dad wished Massy goodbye,
He said, “some animals don’t know when to die”
The poor cat we could not cure
Who would want Masy’s pain to endure.
I’m sorry old girl, I couldn’t be there
But I guess you know I’ve shed many a tear,
In life you are torn in so many ways
School, home, family; it’s truly a maze.
Yet, you were always there when I came back
With a wag of the tail and a little yap,
That look in the eyes that says “I need you”
Well, old friend, I needed you too.
