Death Impending

If I knew my death impending,
Whose love letter would I be sending?
If I knew my death impending,
Would I go on with my pretending?
Would I give my diaries to friends?
And mourn forever the unfinished end?
My soul, a theory made up by those,
Who needed a life, as one came to a close,
Would I know which breath would be last?
Would I be happy with my life passed?
If I knew my death impending,
Whom would with me my days be spending,
Which friend would fly from other lands?
With whom would I be holding hands?
If I knew my death impending,
Would I be ready at my ending?
