Just One

The difference between 55 and 54,
is just one.
The difference between first and second,
is just one.
But the difference between now and then,
is only 14.
14 years we shared in one way or another,
we started out together,
shuffling across the stage as innocent four year olds,
but we won't end together.
Our journey won't end with everyone else
because it's already over.
Jealousy, anger and bitterness broke us apart.
The difference between 55 and 54,
is just one.
The difference between first and second,
is just one.
All it took was just one mark to ruin a friendship
