Young men scared and excited,
Fathers proud but worried,
Mothers crying,
Far away from home,
Fighting in the hot dark jungle,
Unseen enemy hiding,
Bullets flying past,
Wounded bodies everywhere,
Lying anxiously waiting,
Listening for any sounds,
Enemy approaching you lay frozen,
Sergeant yells “FIRE”,
The noise is unbearable,
BANG,
Lying in the blood stained mud,
Arrive home for the last time,
Mother and Father mourning.
