The Journey I Took

Anger and anxiety, confusion and complication,
I’m crying every night until the day is bright.
I feel so lost and sad,
Sinking into the seas that are rough at first sight.
Oh children full of passion and desire,
You think that the world is fair.
But when you travel on those rocky roads,
Justice isn’t always there.
When I take the first hesitating step,
I’m cautious as a rabbit avoiding its predator.
But no matter how hard I try,
My life seems to always head away from the better.
However, as I continue down the track,
Rough becomes smooth, rocks becomes dust.
The sun comes out from behind the clouds,
And suddenly the world becomes just.
Joy, relief and pleasure warm the cockles of my heart,
As I stride with confidence with every step I take.
I’m independent, sure of where I’m heading,
My personality starts showing with every decision I make.
I’m a butterfly, newly emerged from my cocoon,
With my wings, I fly to see the world from a different view.
Instead of viewing my early hardships as tortures,
I realize it as experience which is recognized by very few.
I feel wonderful, happy, glad to be here,
I once again fit into our society.
I have come a long way - though it seemed short,
But at last, I have found my identity.
