Have you ever been taken away from your Mum and Dad?
Ever sat waiting feeling miserable and sad.
Looking out the window hoping they'll arrive,
Thinking all the time are they still alive?
I have for three and a half years,
Upset, confused and often in tears.
Finally you get a sign,
“A whole carrot all mine.”
Your Mum and Dad are on their way,
They could arrive any day.
You see flames. You smell smoke,
People cry and people choke.
You have to get away and fast,
Trying to remember the past.
You walk for miles all alone,
Thinking will I ever get home?
When you get there,
The streets are bare.
You find a girl her parents are dead,
It looks like they were shot in the head.
You walk on feeling angry and sad,
The Nazi people are so bad.
They take your Mums and Dads away,
And Shoot you if you misbehave.
But you have found some great new friends,
You know it's getting close to the end.
Every one cries and says goodbye,
You jump from the train knowing you could die.
