Nature's Dance

The stars glistened and smiled,
And the moon looked down on me,
The wind blew a gentle breeze,
On that happy summer's eve,

The clouds were playing hide and seek,
The wattles slept through the mischef,
The pixies nestled amongst the christmas bells,
The snow fell on the gum trees,

The nightime animals came out to play,
The possums, the bandicoots, the flying fox,
They laughed, they ate, they played some games,
And soon the night came,

The sun awoke and lit the sky,
The nightime animals slept again,
The night had ruled for only a short time,
And tonight it will reign once more.
