The bombers zoomed overhead,
A tank burst into flames.
Machine guns let out their burst of hell
As we charged up River Thames.
Death consumed my fellow mates
One by one they fell.
Nothing could be worse than this,
Not even living hell.
My own horrible life
I wish I could sell.
I was in a place where
Only the dead slept well.
