Misunderstood

I tried to be what you
Wanted me to be.

But you didn’t understand
That it wouldn’t work

Until you accepted me,
As me.

You thought I was everything.
Everything that I’m not.

I felt that you expected
Too much of me,

Making me feel like I was flying
But with you in control.

There’s nothing I can do,
Until you realise that

I’m an individual,
I am who I am.
