You never meant to hurt me
You never meant to lie
You never meant to make me angry
You never meant to make me cry

I thought you cared
But I wasn’t right
I cried silent tears
All through the night

You didn’t know
That I had dreams
They involved you and me
But it wasn’t meant to be it seems

I came again and saw your face
Smiled to myself
But I had already fallen from grace
And I couldn’t cry anymore

My tear stained face
Was well hidden from you
You couldn’t tell
That I was real blue

Ill never tell you
You need not know
Just don’t feel weird
When my love should show

And we’ll be friends
Till the end of time
For every time you smile
I’d give you a dime

And if I pass before you
I just want you to know
That I’ll watch over you forever
And my love will still grow

If you somehow read this
Ill never know
All I’ll ask for
I wont ask, just let it go


And while we remain friends
I’ll slowly make my way back to grace
With the help
Of your smiling face

You’ll be in my mind’s eye
Never changing, being that same guy
And even if I die
I’ll still love you

For I believe
That the one you truly love
Is the one you can be yourself around
Yet you would give them the stars above
And they for you, whom they truly love.

I know you never meant to hurt me
Never mean to lie
Never meant to make me angry
Never meant to make me cry

And that is why I love you
For you are sincere,
Trustworthy, charming and beautiful too
And that is why I really love you
