Lennon Scott Miller (a Poem About A Friend Who Passed Away)

Lennon Scott Miller
1992-2008

Scott was his middle name,
And he always liked to play a game.
He was diagnosed with leukemia at four,
The doctors said he had six months and no more.

But he proved them wrong.
And battled through it because he was strong.
Then he went over to France,
When he got back, he didn’t have enough energy to even dance.

Scott became very sick,
And he was into hospital very quick.
No one else knows what he is going through,
Unless they have the disease that he has too.

Scott was my best mate,
I thought he would always be there, even a little bit late.
He had a wild time when he was well,
When he smiled you could always tell.

Big blue eyes and a cheeky smile,
Making him laugh was always worthwhile.
I went and saw Scott yesterday,
And the more I thought about him, the more I wanted to stay.

Then I realized with a sigh,
That we are all going to die,
But Scott is my best mate, my one true friend,
And he is sitting in a hospital bed, just waiting for his life to end.
