Legacy Of Thoughts

My pen dives towards the paper
And swoops across the lines
As a seabird might the waves.
My eager mind creates thoughts
That travel to my fingertips
Where my thoughts appear as words
And come magically to life.
Today might I write
Of politics and womens' rights?
Or should I speak of forests
With everlasting green.
Maybe today is a time
To dream of sweet romance and crime
Or possibly a seaside town
Where the sand is always gold.
What about fantasy?
Fairies, gnomes, a little catastrophe…
And there before your eyes
A beautifully spun story now lies.
But what’s this?
My mind has already woven
A story of it’s own kind.
A legacy of thoughts to write…
When I’ve found the paper.
