A happy medium
Between the goose down quilt and the concrete floor,
Between the cotton candy and the mushroom cloud.
A happy medium
Between the baby's soft skin and the worker's rough hand,
Between a freshly pressed suit and the poor beggar's rags.
A Happy medium
Between a luxurious mansion and the humble barn,
Between the childish flushed cheeks and the storm-weathered eye.
A happy medium
Between the hard sour fruit and the sweet rotting flesh,
Between having no inhibitions and living in chains.
A happy medium
Between the birth and the inevitable death,
Search forever and find, 'tween dark and light
A happy medium.
