Day By Day

His hands run gently through her hair,
As love’s magic flowed through the air,
Their eyes locked together,
“I love you, I will forever” the girl whispered, touching his arm.
“And I love you, I’ll always keep you from harm” he murmured back, touching her face.
They wrapped their arms around each other, in a gentle Embrace.
In her house they sat, as she slipped away.
Getting frailer day by day.
Slowly she let go, Let go of life.
The man clung, to his loving wife.
“Goodbye my love, I’ll love you to death and past!”
And those were those words, the ones she spoke last.
