As I got ready for the race all that was going through my head was a voice reminding me to try my best and make Australia proud. Then as the bell rung I was out fast in the lead winning the race of my life. After three laps my energy decreased and my heart was pounding, but with only one more lap to go I gave it my best shot to complete the last lap as fast as I could possibly swim. I touched the wall with a sigh of relief. I looked up at the scoreboard to find out that I had won. I was so thrilled and ecstatic when I stood up to receive my gold medal and sing the national anthem.
