A Day In New Zealand

My eyes open as dawn peers through my window. As the morning dew drops from the trees, birds chirp and chat, all shouting, “It’s a new day.”
The sky is empty but the roads are full, with mums, dads and children trying to move forward but they can’t move at all.
The schools are littered with children with a thirst for knowledge. Teachers are at the front of the classrooms giving the students the knowledge they desire.
As I walk home, the sweet smell of freshly cut grass in the afternoon crawls up my nose. Birds perching high up in the tree tops resting after an exhausting day of flying all shout “The day is at an end.”
As night falls, families rest in front of a nice, warm fire. The roads are now empty but the night sky is full. The sun has now gone but the moon has come.
As I lay my head, I sleep and wait for a new day… in New Zealand.
