Hanging There

She's hanging there in the air, like a leaf about to fall.
She's hanging there in the air, not moving at all.
She's hanging there from that rope, dead as a piece of meat.
For all she wanted was the feeling gone, that was too much to defeat.
She's hanging there, no thoughts anymore, no words to try and explain.
She's hanging there, at peace at last, for now she feels no pain.
She's looking down upon his life, as he's told that hers is over.
She's looking down upon him now, alone, his thoughts will hold her.
He's wishing now he didn't mess with, and torture her frail heart.
He's wishing now he could just go back and give her a fresh start.
But there's nothing that will change this, his words will never erase, for she's hanging there, with no heart beat, a final smile upon her face.
