Kids Are Just Kids

We can get so rowdy, we won’t sit still
But then again, what child will?
You may get annoyed when we won’t stop our play,
But kids are just kids. We’ll grow up some day.
Ever seen our dirty towels lying on floor,
Or had to move a million things just to get in our door?
We may not listen to whatever you say,
But kids are just kids. We’ll grow up some day.
We track muddy footprints on the brand new tiles
Shrieking with laughter, our face full of smiles.
When you tell us to clean up, we might tell you ‘No way.’
But kids are just kids. We’ll grow up some day.
On the bright side, we bring you love and happiness
And we’re really and truly sorry about all of the stress.
So savour the moment, ‘cause we can’t delay
The kids that were just kids growing up someday.
