Peeping Toms

Down to Seals Cove we went
Me, my mum and her mate
We were going camping down near the beach
Ready with a bucket full of bait.

We drove down, along the cove for hours on end
We were getting excited, we could smell the beach.
Then we finally arrived, and we set up camp
The sand and the water right at our reach.

The three of us feeling fine,
Followed a path down through the green
Using the sound of the waves as our guide
we broke out of the trees like the sun out of dawn, and we saw a beautiful scene.

The waves were blue, the sand was white
The sunlight ripped right through the sky
There were few people, only a fisherman or two
The beauty of the place made our hearts fly.

We walked back to camp hoping we could stay,
But the day was dawning, it was getting dark
And we walked back through the trees and the vines
Then went to the place were we set down our tents, in this glorious park.

We decided some light would do us good
So we set up a fire, with sticks and lighters
And we danced until we heard a sound
Right then I hoped mum and Danny were good fighters

There were men in the bush we were sure of it
They came to spy on all of the fun
Well that is before mum threatened them with her imaginary pistol.
‘You don’t own a pistol’ I said being rather young, so now was the time to run.

We ran screaming with our things in our hands
Then just as if to add effect a storm rolled out
Lighting crashed and thunder grumbled
But getting to the car was all we were thinking about.

We drove away at the speed of light
Tears of fear rolling down my cheeks
Our camping trip, had been discouraged
Even though we had planned it for days and weeks.

We booked into the closest hotel
And when we were out of harms way
We broke into hysterical laughter
We’d had an unbelivalble day.

After a shower, some sleep and some food
We got in the car and drove down to spot.
We saw the foot prints of the peeping men
And we were truly happy that luck was on our side, we knew we had a lot.

So with a story in our heads that we would surely share
We travelled back to the place we loved the most.
Telling our friends and our family how brave we were
We should’ve at least had the privilege to boast.
