People around the world,
Are like you and me in some way,
We’re different yet the same,
Though each of us is far away,
We smile and laugh the same.
Peace all around the world,
Like a bird soaring through the sky,
Conflicts pull us apart,
And bring us into horrible war,
Bullets falling like rain.
Smiles all around the world,
That brighten our eager faces,
And lighten up our lives,
Everybody here is equal,
Should we each have fair play?
Music around the world,
The beat of the African drum,
Loud as crashing of waves,
To the sound of the piccolo,
As quiet as the breeze.
Beliefs around the world,
And different ways of living life,
And we share together,
With all our similarities,
We all unite as one.
Food all around the world,
From the taste of the Sausage,
Cooked on Aussie barbies,
To the spice of the middle east,
Boiling hot chilli.
Feelings around the world,
Happiness and smiles and laughs,
That make the Earth lively,
To the bitter sadness and tears,
That make us feel alone.
Friends all around the world
That comfort us when we are sad,
We all have coloured skin,
We each speak different languages,
Yet we are all alike.
Time s ticking past,
Like sand falling through your fingers,
The future is in our hands.
