Finalist in the 'Summertime Fun 2008/2009' competition
Deep within Earth's fiery core
The molten rock does stir
Churning 'neath restraining crust
And bursting out in fire.
Seething water rushes forth
Consuming thirsty land
Seeking to gain higher ground
At angry wind's command.
Soon does wind leave the waves
To flit among the trees
Rising in slow spiraling thermals
Despite the forest's pleas.
Soaring high among the clouds
Birds soon join its course
While down below great mustangs follow
Its wild, driving force.
Wisps of cloud gather round
From departing wind's remains
As tiny precious droplets fall
To join the sea again.
