Led Into A Year With No Love

Summer Holidays are finally here
They lead us into a Happy New Year.
But it isn't really happy for all
Writing this just makes me want to bawl.
On New Year's Eve it was a starry night
everyone was happy and the stars were bright
But in a little house a lonely girl sits there
I look over at her and start to stare.
She is admiring the fireworks a brilliant sight they are
But in her eyes I see something rather harsh.
I can read her mind I know what she's thinking.
Last year on New Years Eve
This little girl was sitting at home
but she looked rather happy.
there was music playing her feet were tapping.
I here a loud noise!
All of a sudden I hear people screaming
I just shut my ears it's actually quite greaving.
The noise of gunshots keep ringing out
and this just makes me want to shout!
I see a lady I can see fear in her eyes
She tells this girl to go far away
This lady says "You cannot stay!"
The little girl jumps out the window
She says"Mummy come on why won't you follow?"
The Lady is about to rush over to her girl
When a man in a black costume grabs her
The little girl sees a gun in the man's hand
"Mummy she yells that man is bad!!!"
"I know my dear" The lady yells with fear
"But why doesn't this world have love anymore?"
"Because my dear some people don't care about all the happy families that live for love and peace and this is America the people here are dangerous that's why you have to go and keep yourself safe!"
The man with the lady runs out the front door
the house turns into flames and the roof hits the floor.
This little girl doesn't know what to do
So she runs to the road with hullabaloo.
She sees blood on the road
and in the distance she sees her mum.
This girl sits beside the body looking glum
and she cries out a tear.
I start to cry at the end of this poem
becuase that little girl was me, Melissa Chroem.
