When bullets flew like angry hornets
And liquid fire brought death
When machine guns spat forth death incarnate
And explosions seemed to rock the earth
Men fought and died
For what others thought was right
And the surviving witnesses
Of the atrocities of war
Stumbled home
With traumatized minds
But no one welcomed them
No one thanked them
For trying their best
Instead they were thrown back into society
Like a child casts aside
A tow it is bored with
And told to live normal lives
