Miss You
In the early morning darkness
Swinging slowly back and forth on the old creaking swing.
Gazing silently into the pure black emptiness of the sky.
The fiery flame of my twisted grey candle lights my pale face, as white as snow.
Moveless like a statue.
Clutching the precious golden locket necklace to my heart.
My most treasured possession.
The last letter you wrote to me lays neatly folded in my pocket,
Beckoning for me to take it out.
Thinking of the moments we shared together.
You held me tight in your arms.
My protector.
All is silent.
Tears roll down my face like rain droplets falling from the sky.
But I am thinking only of one thing, you.
And I miss you.
