I remember so clearly my first day of Prep,
Making friends was the hardest step.
My teacher was great, she taught us all she knew,
Sometimes days seemed long, but still time flew.
And for years and years I completely forgot,
I'd have to leave all my friends, every one, the whole lot.
Until BANG! Year 6, our last year,
All of a sudden, it all became clear.
We said goodbye with tears, but friends amaze,
It's been less than a month, but already they've changed.
But I've got new friends, they're all I wanted to get,
And I won't have to leave them for a long time yet.
