Dance - The Inner Feeling

I sat there, just waiting for something,
Anything.......
These days it was difficult for me to comprehend what was going on.
I was so confused, so lost but never lonely.

I lied, and yes it was wrong but they wouldn't listen,
I can't understand why and i don't know how.
A fear for knowledge and a grasp on life,
A hare couldn't beat the tortoise so how could they do it to me.
I was so confused, so lost but never lonely.

The music stopped and i stood there,
Motionless,
My last finishing number of the night.
The judges clapped, the people cheered,
Everything was so subtle to me,
I hadn't adjusted back to reality,
yes, back to me.
But it was worth it, a performance they would never forget.
I was no longer confused or lost but I suddenly felt lonely.
