The Ultimate Sacrifice

It was ten to two,
they had not come.
We were in the field,
bodies everywhere.
Bang! Boom!
They were here.

They were coming from every angle,
like prisoners after a guard.
They could not see us,
but we were there.
We were waiting,
waiting for the opportune moment.
And then it came.

We got up,
Bang! Bang! Bang!
My squadron was gone.
I was not going down with out a fight.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaah!
I shot every bullet I had.
I had no more ammunition.

I used my bayonet,
using it to hack and chop the enemy.
Bang! I was shot.
Bang! I was shot again.
And BANG!
It was done,
I hade made the ultimate sacrifice.
