Gloom and emptiness
Icy currents filter slowly
Darker than shadows
There are no shadows here
There is no light.
The faint shifting of light far above
A different world
Nothing seems to survive here
The weight of the dark, inky sea
Lies relentlessly, unyieldingly
On the unmoving obscurity
Surrounding me, I am trapped
The beauty of life lays worlds above
A different world
Unbearably cold, cold waters
That do not swirl like any sea you’ve ever known
They hold all in their icy, lifeless grip
Despair, gloom, mystery, the unknown
Pinpricks of light in the distance draw closer
No more oxygen left
I lie suspended in the darkness of
A different world.
