A speech on a character
from a book?
Off to my shelf but it
took just one look
Dr Seuss are the ones
I reach up and touch,
These books are quite
scruffy, I’ve read them
so much
“THE CAT IN THE HAT”
I hear you all giggle
Isn’t that for children
quite little?
NO NO not at all
Though the tales can
be tall
The rhymes and
tongue-twisters are
very sticky
Reading aloud can be
super tricky
The cat always manages
to get into strife
Here’s just one week
in his crazy life,
On Monday he eats cake
in the tub
Leaving a pink ring that
needs more than a rub
On Tuesday he wiped the
ring onto the wall
Now there was pink
all over the hall
On Wednesday he used
Mums best dress
She’ll hit the roof if
she sees this mess
On Thursday he used
Dads best shoes
Now Dad will also blow
a fuse
On Friday he wiped the
ring onto the mat
He’s making thinks worse,
that silly cat.
On Saturday he brought
little cats A through to Z
They will fix everything
now he said
By Sunday the Little Cats
had done their best
Finally the kids could have
a rest
The cat gets in more
trouble than he should
But most of the time his
intentions are good
He has so many tricks
under his hat
I definitely would like to
meet that cat
So just for a laugh why
Not try one for fun
You’ll see there is
silly-ness by the tonne
