Exhausted lungs struggle to inhale vital air
Choking on thick smoke, gasping in despair
Flames engulf your surroundings, there is no way out
Realising you are trapped, your life, you start to doubt
Smouldering ashes fall to the ground like pounding rain
But, instead of making the ground wet, it destroys terrain
Shades of orange flicker before your petrified eyes
Your ears hear the horrific screams and the frightened cries
Blazing heat is impossible to escape, sweat pours down your face
The fire now playing the game of death, it longs for your embrace
It taunts you with its winnings, setting your possessions alight
You watch years of memories disintegrate, all lost overnight
You are just another innocent victim, simply a captive of fire
You were merely an unlucky object of its ruthless desire
