FAMILY

I am lying in my bed
Staring at the roof
Looking for some answers
Looking for some proof

My friends say she won’t come back
But I know they’re all wrong
She didn’t mean to hurt me
She’s been looking all along

She’s looking for her daughter
Who she lost that night
She’s looking all around us
Putting up a fight

My friends say I should hate her
And Miss Wayne agrees
But I think they’re just jealous
Without their families

I know that she is out there
Not what she’s said to be
She’s trying to repair
Her broken family

But then I look again
I think about that word
And wonder to myself
Why was I so absurd

She may come back one day
Calling out for me
To which I will just answer
Sorry
But I can’t leave my family.
