A mother hen and darling chicks are really quite a sight,
They cluck and scratch and fool around, with sweet eyes shining bright.
21 days mum sat on her eggs, guarding them each day,
Until finally , they all hatched out, so happy and so gay.
While mumma tries to teach them how to fly and how to preen,
They roll around in dust baths, clearly not too keen!
So if by chance, you come upon, a mother hen and chicks,
Be careful not to get too close, she's fierce, and she pecks!
