1 Like wispy trails of smoke they float,
2 Ethereal and empyrean threads of the mind.
3 With erratic energy in frantic flight,
4 They are the keys to our Psyche.
5 Enablers of percipience, internal Athenaeum
6 Of restless discovery and human progression,
7 The world as it is exists through their presence.
8 Through them we know who we are.

9 But when these vaporous essences disappear,
10 Our map to the world evanesces.
11 And as a distant present replaces our lost past,
12 Nothing is as it seems. Nothing is as it was.
13 They say that we can never experience beyond our final breath.
14 They are wrong, for in this lifetime, we can experience this living death.
