Finalist in the 'World of Words 2009' competition
An angel, clad all in white,
Takes the clouds from the sky,
And covers the sun's falling light,
As the sunset's end draws nigh.
She places the stars one by one,
Upon the dark, velvet night,
And when this endless task is done,
She rests, gazing upon her stars, so bright.
But as the morning creeps closer by,
The stars blink and with a sigh,
Disappears into the sky.
The angel whispers, "Goodbye, goodbye."
But my little readers dear,
Do not worry, do not fear,
For when the dark, velvet night draws near,
The angel's masterpiece shall reappear.
