Uncertain horror

My eyes opened. I wish they didn’t as I had been dreaming. My hands were tied up in a dirty prickly rope. My wrists were red and I had tears running down my cheeks. I looked around and noticed I was in the office! I freaked out. I looked around for means of escape. I noticed a baby carriage near the desk. It was just like my dream. I wriggled over to the carriage as my legs were tied up too. I peered inside the carriage and looked away sadly. The baby had been slaughtered.

I had now realized what had happened. The office man must have read my sign, because I remember my door opening and someone walking in. Then I remember falling back on to my bed. Then he must have dragged me back to his office and tied me up. So I struggled to intie the rope but it was too tight. That shiny thing on the desk, what was it? I crawled over to the desk and what did I find? A bloody knife. I grabbed it in a hurry and started cutting the rope. Yes! My hands were free. I rubbed my wrists, as they were sore and bruised. I started cutting the rope on my legs, then it was off too. I had another look around and ran to the closest door. I ran over to it and tried to get out but it was locked. I ran to the another door but that was locked too. Then I spotted the elevator. I ran over and pressed the ground floor button over and over again. The doors opened and I rushed in. I managed to squeeze a little smile of joy.

The elevator hit the bottom floor and the doors opened. I poked my head out and looked around. I bolted to the front door but was stopped by voice behind me. I froze, then turned around slowly. It was the office man. He walked towards me until he was only a metre away. I stepped back slowly. He told me that if I walked through the front doors and left he would kill me. So there I was back in the office tied up again. I couldn’t stop crying. The man had left, so it was just me and the cold-blooded baby. I pulled the knife from out of my pocket that I had kept from earlier. I cut the ropes again except this time it was much harder. The man had tightened them but I eventually got them off. I ran for the elevator again, then I stopped. The man would be down their waiting for when I tried to escape again. So I went to plan B.

I tied together all the rope and cloth I could find. I opened up one of the windows and dropped the rope. It was a bit short but I took the chance. I started climbing down the rope. I got to the end, then jumped down. My hands were really sore but I didn’t care, I didn’t want to die. I ran and I ran and I ran. I ran way past my apartment and the one after that. I kept running down the cold wet road. My nose was runny but I kept on going. I didn’t know where I was or where I was going. I suddenly came to a dark alley and a dead end. I stopped and turned around. I could hear a car nearby heading my way. It was getting closer and closer by the second. Then it turned into the alley and screamed towards me. I faced away in horror.

My eyes opened. It was all just a dream......or was it?
