Evolution Fantasy

Every cycle,
every orbit,
every successive revolution,
our species becomes more obsessed,
with what we know as Evolution.

Every time the clock ticks past,
decreeing “seize the present!”,
every time we move forward without looking back,
we renounce the true solution.

Our existence seems...unearthly,
our true nature does not diverge from so,
I state now with concerned nonchalance,
that we are verily Moon-like souls,

… orbiting rapidly yet so aimlessly,
remaining nescient to transparent truths.

For we believe in futile fantasies,
that yield tasteless satisfaction.
Only our human nature keeps us from proving
Evolution.
