You'll Keep My Heart...

Ever been torn up inside?
So far from yourself that you can't hide?
Ever come to a difficult conclusion?
Where you have no resolution?
You have to give up someone you need,
And it hurts so much you can't breathe?
The one you love walks away from you
And there's nothing you can say or do.
So you do what's best for them and you lie,
It kills you inside and you'd rather die.
But you turn away and you leave your heart on the floor,
It's broken and its bleeding but it's something you ignore.
I love you dearly, I love you so much,
My heart beats faster whenever we touch.
But I can't do this and I won't stay,
I can't be with you if we'll be this way.
So I've said what I've said and I only lied,
I protected the truth and within me it'll hide.
I wish that now was not forever,
That someway somehow we could stay together.
But you won't choose so I had to pick,
I love you the most but I've given you the flick.
I'm sorry there's no other way,
But there's no excuse for me to stay.
So now I've said goodbye and we shall part,
But for the rest of my life you'll have my heart.
