Never Give Up
I came confident to him
Like a robot, I looked for danger.
He was on the floor deeply unconscious
His mouth opened, crying silently.
I asked him what his name was.
He never responded.
I rolled him over, his head was heavy and my hand was humid
But I stayed there.
My fingers emptied his mouth.
I dropped my head, listening, feeling, looking
For any sign of air coming in or out.
There was none.
I turned him back, as I was wondering what I was doing,
I blew air, my air hoping that life would flow again.
I saw his chest compressed, by my hand for eternity.
I lost control of my body. I couldn’t stop,
Until I felt myself, fatting into darkness.
Never give up.
