Lost memories seeking entrance
Lapping at the edge of your mind
Like water on a beach
Swelling around your feet
A future you are trying to foresee
Out of your reach
Like trying to run to a door in a dream
That keeps moving away
Fighting against emotions
Trying to overflow
Like jumping into a pool of cool water
That’s threatening to leak out
Trying to find a love
That was never really there
Like trying to find a needle in a haystack
Though the needle isn’t there
Trying to escape memories
That forever seeks you out
Like trying to run from a hungry dog
When you smelling like meat
Running from a future
You do not wish to be in
Like running from your family
That you’re never going to get away from
Showing emotions
That you aren’t really feeling
Like showing the homework
You didn’t really do
Looking for a love you’ve never had
Only to find you could never have it
Like look for a book you’ve never read
And to find out it was all in your imagination.
