We Are But Parts Of A Whole.

I watched her pretty brown curls bounce as she shrieked and toddled after the speeding puppy.
“Mommy?” her voice was like the sweet sigh of an angel, the barely concealed American lilt in her voice, influenced the shape of her words. Her stunning hazel eyes, gemmed with mossy green around the ebony centre, were framed by a bobbing fringe. I smiled down at her, and folded myself onto the grass tucking my long cheese-cloth skirt under my knees. “Yes, darling?” She smiled like the angel she is, and fell onto my lap.
Needing no more invitation than this, her baby babble began “Dayzee, and Joono and Petie and Bella and they all live together and, and, and Bruno and Cassie and they don’t like each other.” I smiled sweetly at my love and shifted her to my right and arose, keeping my hand interlocked with hers, her tiny thumb hooked beside my pinkie. “Daisy, Joonu!” I called patting my leg as the dogs raced back to me.
I beckoned my love back to me, “baby, take my hand” and hoisted my little heart into my arms, and he smiled a sweet baby smile.
“And I am the oldest, because I am a girl and my hair is longer see, Mommy!” linked this way we walked through the soft sunlight toward our home, my love and my heart next to my soul.
We are but parts of a whole.
