A Curse.

Her head was spinning in crazy loops, She sat down on her own,
She felt the darkness overcome, She wanted to go home.
She kept fighting, Day in, Day out, she hurt from therapy,
That painful, hurting, screeching thing, chemotherapy.
With her newborn baby, crying by her side,
She held her close, Oh so close. She almost said goodbye.
“It is gone you’re okay now” She heard the doctors say,
The words she’d been longing to hear, every other day.
So close to the clear mark, When she suddenly fell ill,
A very nasty cough, That prescriptions would not kill.
“It has come back there is seven now, Right on your chest wall”
And her husband held her close, So she would not fall,
And the fight begins again, A dormant battlefield,
Something time has not erased, A wound remains unhealed,
So I ask you cancer, Let her live, Burn away the cells,
I beg you cancer, for her sake, Spare this painful hell.
