He Got Home That Evening . . .

He got home that evening expecting to find his beloved waiting for him.
“Amarath I’m home!”He called out.
But she wasn’t anywhere to be found.
“Amarath! Amarath! Where are you?” he yelled out.
He went to the backyard. It was her favorite place in their home. There he found his beloved on the enormous swing he had built for her. His beloved was laying there with her eyes closed, breathing softly, as her small pale hands lay on her glowing belly, where their child grew –a child made out of love.
A smile spread across his lips, as he walked towards her. He remembered the conversation they had some days before. She wanted the child to be an exact copy of him, but Oreius said he wanted his child to have his beloved’s light blue eyes.
His beloved hated her eyes.
“They remind me of the ocean. . . I hate the ocean.” She would say with a sigh.
But he thought she was the most beautiful woman he had ever laid his eyes on –except his mother.
He bent down and placed a loving kiss on her forehead, as his left hand moved to the home their child grew. Her eyes fluttered open; like a Butterfly spreading its wings. She smiled when she saw him and said wearily “You woke me up.”
He replied “Didn’t mean to.”
“I really need some sleep.” She said as her blue eyes began to descend from sight. Her eyelids were heavy. He hoped she’d get some sleep that night. The child always kicked and nothing could make the child stop from kicking its mother all the time. As a result Amarath couldn’t get any sleep. He smiled and laid another kiss on her forehead. A smile appeared on her lips.
“I love you.” She whispered.
“Didn’t you love me before?” He replied sarcastically.
She giggled a bit.
“I love you very much . . . with all my heart and soul.” And he meant it.
He picked her up from the swing, and settled her into bed.
“Goodnight my love.” He said as he closed the door.
