Happiness
For a fleeting moment I saw it,
And I stared it in the eye.
I embraced it,
And finally understood.
It came to me after all these years,
an epiphany that almost reduced me to tears.
A smile,
the ultimate nonentity,
For now I know,
Happiness is just a well executed facade.
